Founder's story
After more than a decade helping build Tubi from a 6-person startup into one of the most-watched streaming platforms in the U.S., Michael Ahiakpor stepped away from the company in 2024 to focus on his health and personal well-being.
Despite always being health-conscious, years of intense work and limited visibility into his own biology had gradually taken a toll. Like many high-performing professionals, Michael realized his health had slowly drifted in the wrong direction, and that most healthcare systems were designed to react only after meaningful problems appeared.
As he immersed himself in nutrition, biomarkers, metabolic health, and preventive care, he saw major gaps in the available tools. There were platforms for tracking habits, platforms for testing biomarkers, and platforms for glucose monitoring, but very few systems designed to connect daily behavior to measurable biological outcomes in a way that felt actionable and easy to understand.
Over time, Michael began to believe that many of the same data-driven and user-centered product principles that transformed consumer technology could also help people better understand and manage their long-term health. More importantly, he believed it was possible to build a system that treated biomarkers not as static test results, but as variables people could systematically influence through informed lifestyle changes and daily behavior.
Since founding the company, Michael has applied the platform's approach to his own health. Now 50+, he's in the best shape of his life, with significant improvements in key cardiometabolic markers.
